MANILA, Philippines- Filipino-Mexican singer Jessica Sanchez made it to the Top 5 of American Idol Friday (Manila time) after escaping the dreaded "bottom three" despite lukewarm reviews for her rendition of Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody."
American Idol host Ryan Seacrest said that 58 million votes came in after the Top 6 performance night, where the remaining finalists sang two songs each.
Sanchez and Elise Testone were the first pair to be called on to the stage by Seacrest in the tense results show. Testone was eventually placed in the bottom three, where she was eventually eliminated.
Joining Sanchez in the Top 5 are Phillip Phillips, Skylar Laine, Joshua Ledet and Hollie Cavanagh.
With the lone save from season 11 gone and only six American Idol hopefuls remaining, the Filipino-Mexican singer  expressed her fear about the results  night.
In a message posted via her Twitter account, just minutes before American Idol trims the Idol finalists to five, Sanchez was concerned she may not have done enough.
"Really scared about tonight. #idol," she tweeted.
Sanchez received mixed reviews from Idol judges for her rendition of Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody", which has been a staple in past seasons of the hit reality TV show. Jennifer Lopez and rock icon Steve Tyler, who is Aerosmith's frontman, both felt Sanchez just wasn't "rock" enough.
But for her second song, Luther Vandross's "Dance With My Father" Sanchez warmed the hearts of all three judges including Randy Jackson.

Sanchez was eliminated two weeks ago after failing to garner enough votes to buoy her to the next round. She was eventually saved by the judges. After landing in the dreaded "bottom three" for the first time, Sanchez had been drumming up support from her fans to vote for her.
So far, the Filipino-American community in the US has been the most visible in trumpeting calls for more votes for the singer.
"There's no more save... Each votes really makes a difference!" she tweeted.
